“We have always focused on design, and today our funeral cars are recognised worldwide for their personality and elegance. This is thanks to our collaboration with designers, which for years has enabled us to set new standards in the industry. We rely on advanced technologies to develop truly tailor-made solutions that meet all needs. We like to experiment with new colours, finishing processes and accessories to make a difference. When, for example, we introduced the ivory colour in 2009, we were literally trendsetters. ”

Our history

Ellena’s is a success story born from a great passion and the courage to innovate.

Ellena Srl was founded, immediately specialising in the production of tailor-made funeral cars. At the end of the same year the first model saw the light, a 2-door Mercedes V210, completely made in sheet metal.

1996

Ellena produced its first 4-door hearse, which was officially presented at the Tanexpo International Funeral Exhibition.

1999

The company rapidly evolved and accelerated its production: the shift from sheet metal to fibreglass made it possible to considerably increase the volume of fitted vehicles, already chosen by the best operators worldwide.

2002

2003 represented a further turning point in the development of Ellena, which became the first company in Italy to collaborate with designers to create hearses with unique and innovative lines. Thus, the famous Mercedes Benz E411 was developed.

2003

Ellena moved into new premises at Via Michele Borda 7 in Saluzzo. A space of more than 5,000 sqm, characterised by advanced painting and assembly facilities.

2004

Ellena launched the first ivory-coloured hearses, confirming its international status as a trend setter in terms of design. An absolute and revolutionary novelty, which opened new horizons of style for the entire sector.

2009

A great honour to crown the company’s international success: Ellena received the official certificate for the production of small series vehicles from the Italian Ministry of Transport.

2011

Ellena was awarded with the prestigious Tanexport Prize, an acknowledgement for the company’s innovation and quality.

2014

Ellena officially became an international reference thanks to the design and production of a hearse on a Maserati Ghibli chassis. The model, presented in Paris during Funéraire, the most important international funeral exhibition in the sector, was a huge success.

2015

Ellena again proved to be one of the market pioneers by presenting the first hybrid funeral car, the Mercedes Benz E513 Hybrid, at Funéraire Paris 2019.

2019

Ellena continued to grow, doubling its production facility in 2020 with new space and technology to support production.

2020

The 2021 Funéraire Paris international trade fair provided the platform to officially present Ellena’s newest creation: the stunning Jaguar J40.

2021

Ellena never stops! The company’s R&D department is preparing to develop new solutions for the industry: funeral vehicles that look towards sustainability and the future of high-end funeral transport.
